opera di donna nuda in sacchetto di plastica

FABIO MONTALTO

“I was born already contaminated by painting and violin by my father’s hand, when at the sight of a Dalì I found myself enraptured by the dreamlike plots of a skilled enchanter. Everything became from that form of ingenious art that confuses, deceives and amazes...” In my youth, taken by multiple lines and rigorous perspectives, I loved to flutter, from time to time, from drawing to painting...like branches of an unlikely artistic imprint. In the following 90s, leafing through a magazine, Mapplethorpe’s erotic photography reached me and added, to my growing surrealist sense, the masterful management of black and white and the powerful formalism of the nude. With photography, then, I searched for the light and discovered the shadow, until I understood that one holds the other tightly by the hand. Just as I acquired, time later, compositional skills, framing and awareness of shooting. The authorial nude is the photographic genre that I prefer most and in order not to fall into the most massifying and banal commercial nude, my artistic intent first hovered over the female body finding anonymous, new and deceptive angles as unexplored areas... deprived of that unnecessary intimacy (Erogene Origini series - 2020). Only today, thanks to material art, I wanted to go beyond the real boundaries of photography and, between surrealism and eroticism, I have completed contemporary works that are unique in their kind. Even the pressing digital progress of A.I. (artificial intelligence), which threatens to migrate art from man to machine, has strongly pushed me to intervene drastically on my photographic works, almost as if I wanted to take them out of the digital world, to impress on them that human matrix, that indelible signature of the soul that every artist engraves with his madness. The nude, in all forms of art, represents the most expressed theme in the works of all time, sacred and profane,... from the figures on the Hellenic finds to the mosaics of Pompeii, from Leonardo to Michelangelo, from Rubens to Klimt, from Courbet to Goya, from Man Ray to Alfred Johnston, from Newton to Weston. The erotic line that belongs to me is interpreted in an ironic-conceptual key where the "body" is an anonymous backdrop from which the sacred symbolism of sexuality emerges... the triangle of the female womb or the chalice of creation, towards which the vitality of man concentrates his senses. And vice versa the male phallic as an indispensable accessory to the achievement of divine union, without which the woman remains empty... sterile, incapable of fertilizing a new soul. A composed erotic symbolism, but at the same time allusive and provocative that lets traces of my land and my tradition permeate. Works created to interact with the soul of those who look at them, surprising and entertaining. An art that plays with titles and words, so that you, the observer, smile at the embarrassment and deceptions of our time... because in the end, it's all "a big grab for the ...Q". Fabio Montalto graduated as a surveyor in 1987, continuing his studies in engineering until 1989. After his military service, he joined the National Fire Brigade, where he still serves in Syracuse. Artistically he is self-taught and has participated in solo and group exhibitions, photography competitions and publications. Now he dedicates himself, in his laboratory in Noto, to his experimental photography, collaborating with galleries and art fairs.

ARTISTIC EXPERIENCES

Massifying and banal commercial nude, my artistic intent first hovered over the female body, finding anonymous, new and deceptive angles like unexplored areas... deprived of that unnecessary intimacy (Erogene Origini series – 2020).
