FRANCA FABRIZIO
Franca Fabrizio has loved playing with colors and brushes creating fantasy scenarios since she was a child. She began to devote herself entirely to painting, participating in exhibitions in Italy and abroad only after her debut in April at Paviart 2022 where she exhibited in the space of the gallery owner Marcella Curcio, with whom she began a constant collaboration, starting her artistic journey. Her works are very personal and particular: they all have a profound meaning to grasp and decode; they invite those who observe them carefully to reflect on their inner world and on existence in general. Through the pictorial language Franca Fabrizio abandons herself to her imaginary world, an emanation of her inner Self, in the search for a cosmic union and a harmony also with that universal creative energy from which everything derives and to which everything returns. Do not look, therefore, for representations of the real world in her works, nor for respect for graphic rules or perfection. When she paints, Franca Fabrizio seems to follow a perceptive dimension parallel to that of everyday life and expresses ideas and concepts with a symbolism yet to be discovered and decoded. Her artistic productions also condense emotions and sensations that are projected onto the observer by the brilliance and vivacity of the colors. What may apparently seem like an attempt to represent reality is, in reality, the expression of her inner world or of reality transfigured and reinterpreted as her mind sees it. The artist almost never draws: she begins to work by sketching the first graphic signs on the canvas without an initial project, until she creates figures, images, landscapes that represent an abandonment to infinity to reach a sort of liberation and cosmic inspiration with the universe itself. Each element constitutes the colored materialization of experiences, emotions, concepts, dreams and sensations that have touched her soul and enriched her psyche. Each image is a reinterpretation of the world, a message expressed on impulse that transfigures reality, mixing the conscious and the unconscious in the creation of a parallel dimension waiting to be discovered.
ARTISTIC EXPERIENCES
The artist Franca Fabrizio has participated in various fairs and exhibitions abroad (Moscow, Paris, Oslo, Brussels, Vienna, Madrid, Lugano, New York, etc.) and, in addition to the Aosta Valley where she lives, also in various other Italian cities (Milan, Rome, Florence, Turin, Bologna, Palermo, Pavia, Padua, Venice, Taormina, Noli, Milan, etc.). She has some of her works on permanent display in Rome, in via Margutta 90, in the International Gallery "Area Contesa", other works in the CM Gallery of Marcella Curcio in Noli. On her website (www.francafabrizio.com) you can view both her artistic curriculum and the criticisms received from art critics such as Marta Lock, Giorgio Grasso, Mario Salvo, Ivan Caccavale, Maria Palladino, Valeria Ferranti. Franca Fabrizio, in addition to the awards received in 2022, including a mention from the expert committee at the Luxembourg art prize 2022, when she began her career as an “artist” in earnest, won third prize at the DE MARCHI Prize in BOLOGNA in May 2023. She was also selected to participate in the INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY ART AWARD 2023 in Madrid and in the TRIENNALE in Rome, a very important international event organized in the Museums of S. Salvatore in Lauro from 1 to 15 December 2023. In January 2024 she took part in the ARTIST OF EUROPE AWARD 2023 in Milan-Brera and, again in January 2024, she won the first prize in Rome in the “Red carpet” exhibition organized in via Margutta 90 (Galleria Area contesa) Franca Fabrizio, present in the various catalogs of the exhibitions in which she participated, is also included in the CAM (catalog of modern and contemporary art) n.58/2022 and n.59/2023, and also in the ATLAS OF CONTEMPORARY ART, the result of the collaboration between The Metropolitan Museum of New York and Start Corporate Patron of Rome, acquired by Giunti edizioni. L'ATLANTE, officially presented in Florence in April 2024 and on May 25, 2024 in New York, at the Metropolitan Museum, is an important opportunity to make her art known to the world. The artist, very eclectic, intends to convey thoughts, messages and, with her particularly intense colors, even emotions with her works. Her genre ranges from the dreamlike to geometric shapes, from informal material to visions of the unconscious up to the representations made with a spatula of real landscapes reinterpreted and seen by her inner eye. The art critic Ivan Caccavale says of her: "Between skies and waters, sometimes indistinct, the artist paints illuminated by a third eye thanks to which she manages to transport herself and transport to interior worlds, supported by a lyrical vein in which the palette enchantingly obeys the emotion and inventions of her genius. The narrative, descriptive and explanatory element of her art is undoubted". International critic Marta Lock wrote: “The artist chooses to remain in the same imaginary dimension as Marc Chagall, taking up his fairy-tale atmospheres in which he places characters, objects, animals that seem to have a life of their own thanks to listening to subtle energies, to naturalness, which constitute the essential and indispensable guidelines of his painting as well as his approach to life. His Expressionism thus mixes with Symbolism and Bosch's attitude of filling the entire canvas with his protagonists and his allegories as if they were all arranged on a single plane, but also with the Naif tendency to simplify the description of landscapes and everything on which Fabrizio's gaze rests, giving life to a style in which the line of the graphic sign emerges and mixes with the pictorial part, an executive approach that favors simplicity and immediacy, almost as if the creation of the work were the result of an instinctive feeling and as such must manifest itself and emerge.” The critic Giorgio Grasso says of Franca Fabrizio that “she is a painter who uses color to tell the stories of the soul. She shapes the images, which she prints on the canvas, through an introspective journey. A deep path through which she filters reality within herself and reworks it, bringing to our gaze energetic worlds made of colors, shades and dynamic animal bodies.” For the critic Mario Salvo “These are works that tell of a life that is still young and carefree, just like her foals, always active and without precise goals to reach or milestones to reach. They are there to be observed, cuddled, loved. Just like these splendid creatures who love the purest freedom, in symbiosis with the artist Franca Fabrizio who applies it on her canvases, without the crazy need to appear. It is enough for her to “be” but satisfied with her own world, which stimulates her, giving her satisfaction and energy to pour into the following canvases.
