SUSY CAGLIERO
Susy Cagliero, an architect and artist from Turin, has always been dedicated to figurative art. For about fifteen years, she has found her greatest inspiration in the context of photography. In her artistic-photographic projects she has always addressed the theme of time. For her, the present does not exist, it is elusive. We live in the past and the future, two intangible but at the same time real dimensions. This is why many of her photographs are born with the “intentional movement of the camera”, a completely personal creative move, to convey this impression of temporal elusiveness. An effect that makes her images pictorial and breaks the convention that the photographic shot freezes the present. In fact, coming from the world of painting, Susy states that her art consists of painting with the camera. Her style has been defined as "Photographic Impressionism". -Her latest photographic work is the result of an image research on Japanese society and is entitled “Timeless in Japan”. A “timeless” Japan, where past and future coexist strongly, but without clashing with each other. A society in which a temporal mix is created, which becomes a unique dimension. Japan seems to perfectly embody his philosophy of space and time. -Another important project of his in progress is titled: outINTIME – the present does not exist The appearance of reality varies continuously. We live suspended between past and future, between what has been and what will be. The present is elusive. This is his personal perception of existence and this philosophy inspires this project in progress. By presenting the photographs of this project at the MIAPHOTOFAIR in Milan, prestigious magazines (such as AD magazine - IL FOTOGRAFO and Photographers) have published his images to represent this important photographic event. -His first photographic project, now finished, was The Wild Side Tomorrow. The Artist photographed for many years the places abandoned by man, testifying how, over time, the force of nature managed to take possession of them and transform them. The project ended with various personal exhibitions.
