MATTEO LE DONNE

Matteo Le Donne was born in Milan on 06/09/1994 and grew up in the municipality of Cologno Monzese, where at a young age he began dabbling in simple tags and skateboarding escapes. Simultaneously, among his various experiences were afternoons spent at an association for the Culture of Hospitality, between creative workshops and youth growth project activities, where he most likely developed a sense of necessary sharing. A passion for rap and hip hop naturally followed, creating a 360-degree imagery within him. The mind imagines, the hand draws; the first murals appeared on his school diaries, but the practice did not yet overflow onto the wall. Then, a wall—the kind that rises up in every teenager gripped by the normal routine of fears and insecurities—risked being built. The mind traveled more through the musical feeling, perhaps to shelter that practical act that did not yet want to go public. Shortly after, came the first group of friends, the first evening outings, and the first real confrontations with the outside world. At this moment, it became more necessary to experience friendships than to pursue his passion, taking refuge within them—here is the first probable "mistake." In the meantime, the first loves arrived, a turning wheel that made him forget about walls, thoughts, dreams, and skateboards. Mis-fortune, however, remained because he did not like trendy places; curiosity still led him to the more accessible Milanese underground, techno nights, minimal music—a chaotic vortex of emotions. Having forgotten his true self for a while, boredom knocked on the door, leading him down a hollower path of existence. Suddenly, however, after school failures and early work experiences, a proposal arrived: his maternal uncle offered him accommodation in Vevey, or rather Lausanne—how beautiful the French influence. The time came to meet Jonsy, his "roommate." At the time, Giovanni Busacca was an art director at Leo Burnett; I think no further explanation is needed. After a few months spent there, he felt the urge to return home. Following his return, the true mission began: working with Steu, Jonsy's brother, the mission was clear: Contemporary Art. Logistics and installation for the great masters: Lucio Fontana, Agostino Bonalumi, Grazia Varisco, Pino Pinelli, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Turi Simeti, Alberto Biasi, Gilberto Zorio, Giuseppe Uncini, Dadamaino, Carla Accardi, Mimmo Paladino, Jannis Kounellis... perhaps it is better to stop here. The rest is history.
