T-Affordable: Art That Doubts

For its 22nd edition, Paratissima puts the Fool at the center: the jester, the clown, the “madman” who, from Shakespeare to Erasmus to Russian literature, is the only one allowed to say what everyone else keeps quiet. It is not an absence of reason, but another form of lucidity. In a present that demands quick answers and accepts everything without questioning it, the Fool stops and asks questions. Just like artists do. At the T-Affordable booth we have gathered twenty-six artists who, each in their own way, choose to stand at that suspended point. Some look for order within chaos, others let it explode into gesture, color and matter, like an alchemy where black turns into light. Others take the symbols we thought untouchable, from sacred icons to the most famous masterpieces, and rewrite them with fresh eyes, through irony, surrealism and technology. There are seas that become states of mind, moons you can almost hold in your hand, faces that turn into masks, landscapes suspended between reality and dream. Geometries crack, golden lines stitch up wounds, figures slip out of the frame. Across painting, sculpture, digital art and mixed media, the works don’t offer answers: they open questions. They are axioms put to the test, certainties that crack and, right there, let the light through. We invite you to do what the Fool does best: suspend judgment, let yourself be disoriented, and discover that getting lost is sometimes the most honest way to find yourself.
