Christian Z (Chriz) was born in 1970, and ever since childhood he's breathed in the scent of ink, watching his father's skilled work with curious eyes, captivated by the magic of typography. His hands would brush against the wood of the frames, lead letters taking shape under his fingertips, while inside him grew the awareness that the written word was far more than just a sign: it's expression, it's identity, it's the power to communicate. But Chriz felt the need to push past the traditional use of typographic letters — he wanted to explore their boundaries, turning them into images. Ten years ago he began his artistic experiments, which found full expression in his first collection, WORDS – Invisible Codes: a deep fusion of word and figuration, material and imagination. 2025 opened for Chriz as a period packed with events and prestigious international collaborations. His exhibition journey began with his participation in World Art Dubai, a fair bringing together some of the most compelling voices in global contemporary art. His work then found a home at the Nicoleta Gallery in Berlin, confirming the German scene's interest in his practice. He then took part in a double showing — in London, at the Espacio Gallery and Arrival Gallery, and in Italy, during Volterra Art Week, where his dialogue with the public opened up new ideas and connections. His exhibition run culminated in Paris, at the Parc André Citroën, one of the most striking venues dedicated to international contemporary art, and in San Remo, with the Festival dell'Arte di San Remo – 2nd ArtExpo Edition.
