CYNTHIA MURIEL
Born in 1980 in Paris and raised in a multicultural environment (my father is Italian, my mother is Malagasy, French and Indian), I have traveled extensively and lived in various countries including Italy, Madagascar, Switzerland and France. This translates into an artistic approach that always seeks to explore human relationships, collective identities and shared emotion, avoiding representing reality in a too direct and crude way. On the contrary, I prefer to capture the essence of experiences and perceptions, creating works that invite reflection and immersion in a symbolic emotional universe whose core is a deep interest in the other, not only in terms of cultural differences but also in the broader sense of community and human connection. Before arriving at painting, however, my passion for the creative manifested itself through various art forms such as photography, drawing and writing. But it is only with the exploration and deepening of color that I found my true artistic language, which then became the vehicle through which I learned to express my connection with the world. Today I live and work in Rome, in the lively Pigneto neighborhood, where I share an Atelier called OTTOSETTE with other artists, giving life to a small creative community that celebrates female energy and empowerment. With my art, I continue to explore and try to represent the complexity of identity, bonds and emotions, inviting the public to reflect on what it means to be part of the world: it is an exhortation to explore the intimacy of human experiences and to discover beauty in otherness.
