LUCA MASSELLI
"I am Luca Masselli, artist, graphic designer and illustrator. I was born in Figline Valdarno, in that area halfway between Florence and Arezzo where personalities such as Marsilio Ficino and Masaccio were born; I still live and work in this wonderful area of Tuscany, cradle of the Renaissance and many other important artistic and cultural movements. My activity as an artist allows me to confront my world of inspirations, suggestions, characters and fantastic places that have accompanied me since the first moment I picked up a pencil as a child; I often find them as real flashbacks, almost déjà vu, in the images that characterize everything related to my work. I have never attended a real art school, after obtaining a diploma in advertising and commercial technician, I studied painting with Massimo Callossi and Elisa Brunello, famous painters of the Florentine area. At the same time, I attended the courses of the “BSMT” academy in Bologna in dance, singing, acting and scenographic design."
ARTISTIC EXPERIENCES
"In 2010, having returned to Tuscany, I began my exhibition activity collaborating with many galleries such as the Galleria Simultanea in Florence and the Galleria IAC in Impruneta, Florence. I qualified as a finalist at the Premio Firenze for three consecutive years (2013, 2014 and 2015) and was one of the winners of the Premio di tutte le Arti in 2014. After obtaining the Visual Merchandiser diploma at Polimoda in 2014, in 2016 I also began to dedicate myself to the creation of a line of t-shirts with my prints and to the creation of unique hand-painted pieces. In 2020 I participated in the group exhibition “Domani in Arte”, at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Rome and, again in Rome, in 2022, I participated in the group exhibition “L’Arte si Mostra” at Palazzo Ferrajoli. In 2023 I had the opportunity to preview some paintings, related to my project “Tarot”, in galleries such as the Thomson Gallery in Zurich and the Casa del Arte in Palma de Mallorca; also in 2023 I exhibited some works also in the context of ArtExpo Basel. From 2 to 10 March 2024 I set up the personal exhibition “Tarot – La Via del Re” at the Galleria OnArt in Florence, which also hosted the official presentation of my first book “La Via del Re – Viaggio nella Terra dei Tarocchi” (Edizioni Clandestine). From 14 to 18 November 2024 I participated with the Art Queen Studio gallery in Arte Padova 2024, placing myself as second place in the Contemporary Art Talent Show award. "
