Melania Di Luigi, born in the province of Florence in 1990, currently lives and works in the Vinci area, Tuscany. A lover of drawing since she was a child, she graduated from the Istituto d'Arte Moda e Costume di Montemurlo in 2009, years in which she was able to gain in-depth knowledge of the different artistic fields such as life drawing (with experimentation of various painting techniques), clay manipulation and finally design and creation of tailored clothes as a subject of study. The study of the History of Art was also very rewarding, including all the insights into the various artistic currents and its exponents, which gave her the opportunity to appreciate and draw inspiration from this fantastic world until she decided in 2020, after years of ordinary jobs, to give life to her artistic profile TrulyBadSketches. She started by opening an online shop to sell reproductions of her first works related to Cinema, another great passion, and by making her pencil illustrations known through exhibitions, cultural events and collaborations. In 2023, in fact, he participated in the "Coloriamo Novembre 2023" contest of the Altro Spazio d'Arte association of Reggio Emilia and won with the work "Le Origini" which, in collaboration with the Sicilian winery Gambino, became the label of their limited series Tifeo line. In the same year he also collaborated with the Casa della cultura "Italo Calvino" association, creating the portrait of the writer himself for the exclusive design of bookmarks for their reading laboratory. In 2024 he decided to make a change in his path and close the online shop to dedicate himself completely to the creation of original works, thus opening himself up to painting and experimenting with new worlds and styles in search of his signature.
