Textured bas-relief executed with a spatula and brush on canvas, gold/silver leaf, mixed media. A tribute to Bernini's sculpture, depicting the God of the Underworld who, out of love, kidnaps Proserpina, daughter of the Earth Goddess. All the passion and strength in the grip are enhanced by the dynamic bas-relief and the strong contrasts of light and shadow, which accentuate the imposing thrust of the fingers into the flesh.
