 I love their look.
 The gaze is the mirror of the soul... yes, it's a cliché, but it's real! No portrait is complete, whether human or animal, if it fails to capture the gaze, the soul, the true "I" of that living being.
 Since I was a little girl, I practiced drawing by copying cartoons from newspapers, mostly of men's and women's faces, but during that time I discovered that they didn't "come out the same" unless I achieved the same look.
 Animals simply convey who they are and what they have to offer. No masks.
 I started painting these colorful animals two years ago, the first being a giraffe. This series will continue to expand because it allows me to express myself fully.
 Why are my pets so colorful?
 Like everything in art, when it is born you don't know "where it comes from", but now that I'm on the third work in this collection, I've begun to feel it connected to the alebrijes.
 The alebrije is a mystical and spiritual creature that represents the soul; it is believed that every human being is accompanied by an animal that will guide and protect them throughout their lives.
