JACOPO RUMIGNANI
Jacopo Rumignani was born in Pisa in 1966. He graduated from the Liceo Artistico in Venezia and, after attending the Accademia di Belle Arti, completed his studies with a Master's in Color Science at the Scuola Politecnica di Design (SPD) in Milano. He opened an interior decoration and set design studio, which he still runs today. He later deepened his skills in techniques such as fresco painting, under the guidance of maestro Sergio Favotto, and mosaic, working with master mosaicist Igor Marziali, as well as murals, winning 3rd prize at the butterfly-themed competition in Bordano (UD). His artistic path has ranged from trompe-l'œil to land art, where he took part in and won 1st prize at the Sea Sun Flowers competition in Lignano Sabbiadoro. A real turning point in his visual language came around the time of Covid, when the strong impact of those events pushed him toward a painting practice built on color contrasts, where light and shadow interact to shape his figures — figurative structures outlined with a palette knife and heightened by fluorescent pigments. Under UV light, his works reveal a second, emotional layer of meaning.
